SAN MATEO, Rizal — A man fatally stabbed his drinking companion, following an argument in Barangay Silangan, Monterey Hills on September 15, local authorities confirmed.
According to the Rizal Provincial Police Office, the suspect and the victim were engaged in a drinking session that spiraled into a heated confrontation.
Witnesses said tempers rose quickly, leading the suspect to draw a bladed weapon and attack his companion.
The victim sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the spot.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident and is currently being pursued by law enforcement.
“We are conducting a manhunt operation to apprehend the suspect as soon as possible,” a police officer stated in an official briefing.
Authorities added that witness testimonies and physical evidence are being reviewed to determine the exact sequence of events.
