The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced the launch of student Beep cards has been postponed to September 20.
"We need to recalibrate our system based on our initial assessment to ensure there are no issues with the application process for student white Beep cards," the DOTr said in a statement on September 12.
The agency announced on September 13 that the student Beep cards will be launched on Saturday, September 20, instead of the original launch date of September 15.
When launched, students can obtain the special card by presenting a valid ID or proof of enrollment or registration for the current academic year, signing an acknowledgement form, and paying a one-time fee of P30.
Students can also choose single journey tickets to avail of the 50% discount.
Senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) can use their existing white Beep cards to avail of the 50% discount.
