The province of Bulacan experienced a nearly five-foot high tide today, July 25, causing waist to chest-deep flooding in several areas.
As of 9:30 a.m., the high tide had reached 4.83 feet, higher than the usual 2 to 3 feet recorded in some areas.
Bulacan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Manuel Lukban said, “Ang problema, hindi agad makalabas ang tubig kung mataas ang lebel ng high tide.”
Authorities confirmed that the 4.83-foot high tide is the highest recorded so far this year and noted that floodwaters are expected to gradually recede over the coming days.
Lukban added that the flooding is likely to subside within four to five days.
