Acting Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte flew to Singapore just two days before the anticipated charity match between him and PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed.
According to the NBI, the acting mayor departed from Davao International Airport for Singapore on Friday morning.
Duterte is expected to face Torre in the charity fistfight at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila on Sunday.
Proceeds from the charity match will be used to help families affected by the inclement weather currently battering the country.
