United States President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin conclude a proposed "three-way" meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the summit, it was highlighted by Putin that Ukraine's absence in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was one of the main causes of the war, and that a peace deal was already suggested by Putin.
Earlier in the meeting, Trump shifted his focus for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia rather than pushing for his earlier ceasefire requests due to his belief that "Ceasefires often do not hold up."
He also said that a NATO security style is assured for Ukraine, which he had suggested during a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He highlighted that it is up to Zelensky to decide whether to have an agreement in order to end the conflict or not.
Additionally, a trilateral meeting was scheduled in Washington by Trump along with Zelensky and Putin to address the conflict.
European countries such as France and Britain already guaranteed the deployment of troops not for the frontlines, but for the sake of the peace deal.
