The number of deaths linked to the effects of the tropical cyclones and southwest monsoon Crising (Wipha), Dante (Francisco), and Emong (Co-May) has risen to 12, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday.
Two out of the 12 casualties have been validated, one each in Northern Mindanao and Caraga, according to the latest situation report.
Simultaneously, the remaining 10 fatalities: three in Calabarzon, two each in Northern Mindanao and Western Visayas, and one each in Mimaropa, National Capital Region (NCR), and Davao region is being confirmed.
From the eight missing persons reports that the emergency responders have received, two in Western Visayas were confirmed.
While another one in Western Visayas, two in Calabarzon, and three in NCR are being identified.
As of this time, the NDRRMC announced that the number of affected families has risen to 765,869, representing 2,733,646 individuals living in 3,712 barangays across 17 regions nationwide.
Meanwhile, 40,487 families are receiving treatment and shelter in 1,117 evacuation centers, with the other 23,830 families getting aid outside evacuation centers.
The Office of Civil Defense reports that "affected" families are those displaced and not needing transfer or removal from their residences.
Another report states that 2,008 houses were "partially damaged" and 423 were "totally damaged."
