The Philippine-India bilateral relations further strengthen as both parties hold talks and deals on fields such as defense, science, technology, and tourism, on Tuesday, August 5.
This was after the visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The agreement was secured during the ceremonial exchange between Philippine Cabinet Secretaries and Indian Ministers at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
Agreements include establishing a strategic partnership, plans for its implementation (2025-2029), and terms of reference for inter-military talks.
Further agreements cover mutual legal assistance, transfer of sentenced persons, and cooperation in science and technology (2025-2028).
Other agreements include tourism cooperation (2025-2028), digital technology cooperation, and space cooperation.
The nations also agreed on enhanced maritime cooperation and a cultural exchange program.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted the deep historical ties between the two countries and the importance of reviewing the India-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement.
President Marcos announced the elevation of Philippine-India relations to a strategic partnership.
